ICE ( In Case of Emergancy )Some cell phones now a days have Emergancy contact features included in your address books or list of contacts. But if yours doesn't ...Make sure your Cell phones have the word "ICE" in front of the contacts that you want notified in case of emergancy. You can even # them, ie., 1 - ICE Mom,2 - ICE Dad, 3 - ICE Home, Etc. It might make a difference on how quickly you can be helped in case of emergancy. |
From Mariea Engelbert sent 1/2/2007 I think this a great idea:: A recent article from the Toronto Star, "the ICE idea", is catching on and it is a very simple, yet important method of contact for you or a loved one in case of an emergency. As cell phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is program the number of a contact person or persons and store the name as "ICE". The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when they went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which numbers to call. He therefore thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name to file "next of kin" under. Following a disaster in London, the East Anglican Ambulance Service has launched a national "In Case of Emergency (ICE)" campaign. The idea is that you store the word "ICE " in your mobile phone address book, and with it enter the number of the person you would want to be contacted "In Case of Emergency". In an emergency situation, Emergency Services personnel and hospital staff would then be able to quickly contact your next of kin, by simply dialling the number programmed under "ICE". Please forward this to everybody in your address book. It won't take too many "forwards" before everybody will know about this. It really could save your life, or put a loved one's mind at rest. For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 etc. A great idea that will make a difference !
To store sheets and pillow cases in the linen closet. - Fold the two sheets neatly and small.
- Fold one of the pillow cases.
- Put the sheets and folded pillow case(s) in the unfolded pillow case and fold the top over.
- Stack them in the linen closet.
- It is neat and when you want them, everything you need for the bed is right there in one package.
- Match up any sets of extra pillow cases, lay the set together before folding. Looks like one, but you have a pair.

The next time all your family is together try ZIPLOC OMELETS. The best part is that no one has to wait for their special omelet and no frying!
- Have guests write their name on a quart-size Ziploc freezer bag with permanent marker.
- Crack 2 eggs (large or extra-large) into the bag (not more than 2) shake to combine them.
- Put out a variety of ingredients such as: cheeses, ham, onion, green pepper, tomato, hash browns, salsa, etc.
- Each guest adds prepared ingredients of choice to their bag and shake.
- Make sure to get the air out of the bag and zip it up.
- Place the bags into rolling, boiling water for exactly 13 minutes.
- You can usually cook 6-8 omelets in a large pot. For more, make another pot of boiling water.
- Open the bags and the completed omelet will roll out easily.
Be prepared for everyone to be amazed.
Nice to serve with fresh fruit and coffee cake; everyone gets involved in the process and in great conversation piece. Imagine having these ready the night before, and putting the bag in boiling water while you get ready. And in 13 minutes, you got a nice complete for a quick breakfast!!! I used tomatoes, ham, green onions, cheddar cheese and mushrooms in this one! MMMMMMMM . . .MMMMMMM good!!! Try it. . .it really works!!! |
