Chocolate Cake & Frosting
(Texas Brownies)
(Otherwise known as Dad's Favorite Cake)

Melt the following ingredients: 1/2 C Butter 1/2 C Shortening 4 T Cocoa 1 C Water Mix following ingredients and pour Melted Cocoa mixture over it: 2 C Sugar 2 C Flour 1 tsp. Baking Soda Then ADD: 2 Eggs 1/2 C Buttermilk Dash fo Salt   Mix all above ingredients throoughly and Pour into a Greased 9 X 13'" pan. (or a 17 1/2 X 11 jelly roll pan)   Bake @ 400o for 25 minutes or until done.

While cake is baking: 1/2 C Butter 4 T Cocoa 6 T Milk 1 Box Powdered Sugar Melt the butter, cocoa and milk in a small bowl in the microwave.  Remove and beat in the box of powdered sugar, until smooth. Add: 1 tsp. Vanilla Pour frosting over cake as soon as it comes from the oven. Chopped walnuts may be sprinkled on top of the frosting
